Proposal for a service related to a technical visit aimed at understanding propolis production and the different systems used in Brazil. The visit will take place during the 4th International Propolis Conference, an event to be held in Ribeirão Preto, SP, from February 10 to 15, 2025.
During the reception, VivaAbelha will offer guests a snack featuring juices, traditional baked goods, cheeses, sweets, and specialty coffees from local producers in Muzambinho. After the reception, visitors will have the opportunity to explore two apiaries. The first apiary is dedicated to propolis production, consisting of hives with different production systems. The second apiary focuses on queen bee production and features selected breeding stock for producing high-quality material suitable for honey and propolis production.
This project is associated with the Association of Beekeepers and Meliponiculturists of Muzambinho and Region (APIMUZ) and the Federal Institute of Education, Science, and Technology of Southern Minas Gerais – Muzambinho Campus. In addition to the apiaries, visitors will have the chance to explore coffee plantations on the property and learn about the rearing of stingless bees. VivaAbelha will provide Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for all visitors.
The visit will take place at VivaAbelha’s headquarters, a company dedicated to producing educational content for beekeepers and meliponiculturists. The facility is located in a rural area, 8 km from Muzambinho, Minas Gerais. The property is surrounded by coffee plantations and native forests, creating an ideal environment for bee-related product development. Additionally, the site features a meliponary housing various species of native, stingless bees.
